U.S. Computer Corporation was founded in 1976, by Byron J. Gesser. Carl Rivet joined the company two years later and Mark Prudhomme several years after that. These three knew their success would depend on hard work, a sense of urgency, a dedicated and knowledgeable staff and a sincere desire to help other businesses grow - all ingredients they had in abundance.

For more than 40 years, they have planned their work and worked their plan. And while they’ve seen many changes in the computer industry, they’ve also met the challenge of staying up-to-date on cutting-edge technology without breaking stride.

Back in 1976, a typical business computer was configured with 32 MB of memory, a 10 MB disk drive, a CRT monitor and a 100 line-per-minute printer, for a total price of about $35,000.

The internet was only accessible by a small handful of computers. It would be fifteen years later (1991) before the concept of the "World Wide Web" is born.

Microsoft was only one year old as they were founded in 1975. Microsoft Disk Operating System (MS-DOS) was introduced nine years later in 1985.

It was just three years prior (1973) when the first mobile phone call was made. It would still be another twenty years before the adoption of mobile phones for public use would become more accepted.

Technology, and the methods in which it's used, is changing at a very rapid pace. There are many technology companies out there that focus on staying on the "bleeding edge" or always chasing the latest and greatest new fad or trend. U.S. Computer has always believed in slow, steady growth and has never jumped on every bandwagon that passes by. Each technology must be proven before it can be adopted, and its practical use must be of benefit to our Customers. Just because it is new, doesn't mean it is great.

There is a fine line between keeping up with the latest and greatest, and getting left behind. U.S. Computer prides itself in partnering with best-of-breed hardware and software providers that produce solid solutions for practical applications. We are always evaluating our portfolio of products and services to make sure we are providing our Customers with the solutions that best fit their needs.

U.S. Computer also stands apart from many others by always looking for opportunities to bring solutions in-house. This allows us to offer Offsite Backup services, Infrastructure Hosting services, Disaster Recovery services, Application Development services, Accounting services, etc. without having to rely on third parties.
